Groovy little number from the good old days of Sesame Street with the weird woman and those worms. Written and animated by Pixar’s Bud Luckey, lyrics by Don Hadley, sung by Kathy Gori (thanks for the info, suladog!). For more goodies, see my site, The Sesame Street Lyrics Archive. Enjoy! www.tinyd.net The broadcast of this video is authorized by Sesame Workshop. Thank you so much! Lyrics: One two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven Eleven o’clock, time to get up It’s a lovely eleven morning I heard eleven worms yawning I saw eleven cows sleeping ‘midst the buttercups I said, “How’s your cottage cheese?” And they said, “Oh, dry up!” Oh! Eleven little birdies in the trees Bright yellow beaks and pinky knees Eleven chicks hatching Eleven cats scratching Eleven’s the number for me Eleven ducklings quacking Eleven pigs, lips smacking One two three four five six Seven eight nine ten eleven Eleven’s the number for me Don’t you see? Eleven’s the number for me!
@DevSodDribble well, you can look me up on wikipedia..kathy gori or email me at kathy.gori@gmail.com other than that….
@suladog Can we see an ID, please??
@Mommy246
I’ve been searching for “if you’ve lost your L” for some time now, but to no avail. I’d love to hear that song again.
@erizoe
I have autism. Is your brother high-functioning?
lol this clearly stayed in my head for a good 25 years.
Thank you for posting this!
@suladog Kathy Gori why in the world would you put your last name on youtube?
@PandaMishima Oh ok I thought she said pekinese like the dog. I am also under redfox409 where I wote the message.
@giantpanda371
Probably because of the silly simpering way she asked it.
@redfox409
I think she means “pinky knees” which those birds do have.
@suladog My autistic brother loves your voice, he listens to this all day all week for hte past four or six months. =)
What do they mean pekinese? Bright yellow beaks and no pekinese. I see no pekinese dogs.
It’s my favorite as well. I still sing it (to my kids dismay).
Hey, thanks for posting the singer’s name. That’s fascinating. My favorite line was, “I saw eleven cows sleeping, midst the buttercups. / I said, ‘How’s your cottage cheese and they said, ‘Ah, dry up!’”
This stuff brings back memories. That’s for sure! Thanks for posting it.
The singer is Marilyn Sokol, a well-known New York character actor who worked for many years with Jim Henson. Cheers!
One of my favorite SS clips, voiced by the incomparable Marilyn Sokol, who worked closely with SS for years even while making a big name for herself in theater. Thanks for posting!
Sesame Street’s the show for me when it comes to watching great memories like this one!
Are the cows voiced by Bud Luckey or his partner Hadley or someone else?
actually, “he” was a she – that one’s on here, too
This is my all time favourite SS song…
How cool!
hi, I’m Kathy Gori and I recorded this for Sesame Street. I haven’t seen this since I did it, and I was 19 at the time. I did a few things for them through Walt Kraemer of Imagination Inc in San Francisco. I was a DJ in San Francisco at the time. It’s so cool to see this agani.
I was the singer on this song..wow..i haven’t seen this since I did it! amazing.
Wow! A well-dressed lady tippy-toeing along a fence beside a pig-sty?
OMG…I still sing this from time to time and my kids cannot relate even if I tell them that it’s from Sesame Street…so glad I’ve found this video..now I can prove them that this song really exists!!!!
Sesame street…the greatest for genius and insidious tunes that stay with you for forty years. thanks for sending me back! what a time machine
